Founders that live and breathe the Yayem lifestyle.

Yayem (yah-yem) was founded by two former Uber execs who met when Nic hired Linds to launch Uber in Africa in 2013. Both equally obsessed with work and play — they found themselves most productive and effective when able to craft their own work days (sometimes at the Uber office, others on the beach in Senegal, others in the BA Lounge at Heathrow, glass of bubbly in hand). It was through these shared years of remote team management that they came to the conclusion that would lay the foundations for Yayem: the most fulfilling life is unbound by one office, one city, one country. Unsurprisingly (if you know Nic and Linds) this would then be discussed at length over many meals in many countries, ultimately culminating in a fateful dinner conversation in November 2019 over spicy sichuan in Singapore…
Linds, ready for a career change, felt torn between two worlds: she wanted to progress her career, but also wanted to continue the global lifestyle she had developed over the prior decade. Nic, a future of work and HR expert, felt passionately that both teams and individuals would benefit from increased freedom and flexibility if the proper tools were provided — and disagreed with the office-bound offers Linds was receiving…Linds concurred. Fast forward a quick global pandemic that helped to get the world on board … and Yayem was born.
Named after a small village in Senegal that inspired our vision and the warmth we aim to bring to every experience and every connection; Yayem is how we feel at home, wherever we are in the world. Oh, and we’re taking members back to Yayem in November 2023 :)
And a global team that brings it all to life.
